About Us

The Whole story

The foundation of AC Remedies

Opening the doors for business in 2007, Shane McLendon started his homegrown residential construction company Shane McLendon Builder LLC (previously Home Remedies LLC) with little more than a pick-up truck and a dream to change the interiors (and sometimes exteriors) of Mississippi, one home at a time.

What once began as a modest one-man home repair operation, Shane McLendon Builder LLC has now grown, and continues to expand, into a full-scale home remodeling company. Specializing in custom kitchens and bathrooms to whole-home remodeling, Shane is the contractor to call whether you need a major overhaul or are just looking to freshen your living space.

Shane's drive to see Mississippi reach its fullest potential is deeply ingrained in him: he is a native of Pearl, MS. Graduating from Pearl High School and later earning an electrical technology degree from Hinds Community College, Shane has been involved in the building industry long before setting out on his own by working for other construction companies in the area. He obtained his builder's license with the MS State Board of Contractors in December 2008 and is registered as a Certified Professional Remodeler with the MS Housing Institute.

On a personal note, Shane and his wife Breanne have celebrated more than ten years of wedded bliss. Breanne works for Madison Avenue Elementary in Madison, MS, as a literacy specialist, and together with Shane, they have two sons.

Fast-forwarding to present day, Shane McLendon Builder LLC is now one of the first and foremost names in residential remodeling for the Jackson metro area, winning Best Kitchen Remodel in 2013 and Best Kitchen, Bathroom, and Entire Home Remodel +$150,000 (merit award) in 2014 from the Home Builder's Association of Mississippi's annual Best in MS building and remodeling competition.

Shane's construction skills are matched equally with his keen business acumen, which is why he was also awarded Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 from the Rankin County Chamber of Commerce. That same year also saw Shane McLendon Builder LLC branching out into yet another field of home improvement with the opening of its sister company: AC Remedies.

When you need a snowball's chance in mississippi...

AC Remedies originated in January 2013, and is headed by none other than Shane's brother Timothy McLendon, also a MS native.

Timothy simultaneously worked side-by-side with Shane at Shane McLendon Builder LLC while attending Delta Technical College's HVAC program, eventually graduating and earning his Master Mechanical license in Jackson and other surrounding jurisdictions. Timothy and his wife April McLendon, a legal representative for Muse Disability, reside in Pearl, MS, with their two sons and daughter.

AC Remedies works on anything and everything heating and cooling related. From heaters to air conditioners, and even water heaters, Timothy makes sure your environment is exactly where you want it to be when you need it. Whether you are looking to troubleshoot and service your unit or if it's time to completely replace, he makes sure the job is done right (and affordably) the first time. Also an award-winning company, AC Remedies LLC took home a Superior Service Award from Angie's List for 2014.

Valuing customer satisfaction, integrity, and pride in a job well done are the basic cornerstones on which Shane McLendon Builder LLC, then AC Remedies, was built. With the McLendon brothers working for you, you can guarantee that you and your home are in knowledgeable, skillful hands. And with both businesses being locally owned and operated, their clients are more than just clients; they are neighbors, too.

Chilly

Beloved Mascot

What...you thought we were going to forget our mascot? We couldn't leave Chilly out in the cold (pun totally intended), now could we? Meet Chilly, our ferocious but lovable polar bear! While having trouble trying to figure out a logo, we scrapped all of the wordy ones and finally decided to adopt Chilly as our icon. Where did his name come from? We had a name-our-bear contest at our very first Home Show in 2013, and we decided that one fit the best! He's holding a snowball because that's how we tell if it's cold enough in your house after we repair your air conditioner. Ok, maybe not that last part, but he has become the friendly face of the company. So, if you see him around town, be sure to say hi!
